The Pretties is a very good continuation from Uglies, it does have a slight time gap in events but not by much. Uglies leaves off with Tally telling specials to make her pretty. In the beginning of Pretties that is what Tally is- pretty, she is no longer an ugly. She is with Shay and a group they call “The crims” some of them are friends of Shays from back in the ‘ugly’ days.

Tally re-meets some very familiar people that we know from the book Uglies and she also finds herself with some new people. In a way history repeats itself once more when someone named Zane becomes an important character. Tally realizes this pattern as well.

You may have also guessed that Tally runs away again, but why? You will have to read and find out why. Her reasons are for running away are good but wait till she finds out what mistake she has made. Tally also is thrown into a whirlwind at the very end of the book. It will make your heart stop in fear.

My Opinion: 

Tally is good hearted but makes some very avoidable mistakes along the way of her life. However I like how no matter what she ‘goes against the grain’ so to speak and opens her mouth. Tally never does the right thing but in the end of it all does the right thing for her.
