You first meet a young girl named Wendy who seems to hate her life. Her mother calls her a monster and claims that Wendy isn’t her daughter. Apparently Wendy’s mother Kim was meant to have a boy but instead had Wendy.

Throughout this first book you find out about why Wendy is called a monster and who the Trylle are.  When you are first reading it the information that they give you is hard to understand. It is a lot of information to take in all at once.

My Opinion: 

 I  would advise reading this book slowly to truly understand it. Some of the characters are hard to like at first because they seem to always be on the offensive.  Towards the end of the first book you see a whole different side of each of them. I fell in love with Finn almost to late. You'll see why when you read it.
