Right off the bat The Hunger Games is thrilling and exciting. You are in the head of a very young Katniess. She is only 16, her best friend Gale is 18. Something called “The Capitol” is the futuristic government that covers all of the 12 “districts”.  The Capitol runs these games each year so they can show people that they have control over what is done.
Throughout the book you find out the history of all 12 districts and get a first hand look at the actual games. Ironic though because it isn’t a fun game. Its a fight to the death.  24 people are selected (two from each district) to fight. One boy and one girl. They can range from 12-18.

My opinion:
The book is a real page turner and will keep you guessing until the very last second. I promise you will not be disappointed.

The Hunger Games Trilogy:

Catching Fire
Mocking Jay
