The Lying Game

Book: The Lying Game (#1)
Author: Sara Shepard
Pages: 305
Series: The Lying Game

Who: Sutton, Emma, Laurel, Charolette, Madeline, Twitter Sisters, Garrett, & Ethan
What: Playing the Lying Game & Emma has to impersonate Sutton… or else.
Where: Arizona
When: Summer/Fall
Why: Well, because someone killed Sutton and Emma is the only one who knows.
How: Sutton lived such a crazy lifestyle that her disappearing for a few days is no surprise, so when Emma shows up, they assume it is Sutton. Since they are twins nobody else knows that either.

Right off the bat you discover that Sutton is dead, Emma however, doesn’t know that. She believes that she has just Facebooked her twin-sister! Emma’s story isn’t as important as Suttons considering that now Emma has no choice but to be Sutton. That is hard for Emma to do because they are two completely different people and Emma knows nothing, just from what she has seen on Facebook.  Emma meets some of Sutton’s friends and falls into place with Sutton’s family too. It’s up to Emma to find out what happened to her long-lost sister.

My opinion:
I didn’t really like the book as I read through the first 40 or so pages, I kept stopping to find other things to do, but in one sitting I managed to force through reading the rest of the book and I actually enjoyed it. It has that thriller feature that Pretty Little Liars has, (which is also written by Sara Shepard, I recommend reading the series) I think if you are into a dramas and thrillers this is the book for you. It makes you wonder “Who Killed Sutton” and no that is NO surprise, within the first two pages you find out she is dead. Even Sara Shepard in a interview talks about her being dead.
